Dalton Local Schools Food and Nutrition Department’s goal is to first provide a healthy and
nutritious meal to our students so they are better able to learn at school. When lunch money
is forgotten we have established the following procedures:
• Treat all students with dignity and respect;
• Encourage parents to be responsible for paying for meals and to promote self-
responsibility of the students;
• Establish consistent department procedure regarding charges.
If you do not want your child charging, you may make a request in writing, to Audrey Zuercher
Food Service Director at 330-828-2405 option 3 to add a NO CHARGING PERMITTED
NOTIFICATION on your child’s account.
We strongly discourage meal charging. When your child reaches a negative balance of ($10.00) you will receive notices through Payschools.
Charging is acceptable for a full meal. However, there will be no “Extra” charging, and no “Extra” purchases will be permitted when a student has a negative balance. Extras include ice cream, bag of chips, extra entree, etc.
